Cada barri té edificis que no surten a les guies, però que tothom reconeix: el mercat, l'escola vella, la xemeneia que ja no fa fum, la façana que veus cada matí quan surts de casa.Cada barrio tiene edificios que no salen en las guías, pero que todos reconocen: el mercado, la escuela vieja, la chimenea que ya no echa humo, la fachada que ves cada mañana al salir de casa.Every neighbourhood has buildings that are not in the guidebooks, but that everyone recognises: the market, the old school, the chimney that no longer smokes, the façade you see every morning when you leave home.
Siluetes del barri convida a trobar-los a les fosques, amb una bombeta petita: resseguint-ne el contorn a poc a poc, fins que l'edifici s'il·lumina sencer i torna a tenir nom.Siluetas del barrio invita a encontrarlos a oscuras, con una pequeña bombilla: recorriendo su contorno poco a poco, hasta que el edificio se ilumina entero y vuelve a tener nombre.Silhouettes of the neighbourhood invites you to find them in the dark, with a small light bulb: tracing their outline little by little, until the building lights up whole and gets its name back.
El patrimoni no és només allò que està catalogat. També és el valor que els veïns i les veïnes donen als edificis del lloc on viuen: els records que hi guarden, les vides que hi han passat, la manera com dibuixen el paisatge del barri. Sovint, si encara són dempeus, és perquè el veïnat els va defensar.El patrimonio no es sólo lo que está catalogado. Muchas veces, si siguen en pie, es porque el vecindario los defendió.Heritage is not only what has been catalogued. It is also the value that neighbours give to the buildings of the place where they live: the memories they hold, the lives that passed through them, the way they draw the landscape of the neighbourhood. Often, if they are still standing, it is because the neighbours defended them.
